Gail Kaempf is currently the nurse manager of the Treatment Research Center (TRC) at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. The TRC conducts clinical research trials for subjects with substance use disorders – alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, nicotine and opioids. As a nurse practitioner, Ms. Kaempf’s clinical responsibilities over the past 22 years have included providing assessment of subject study eligibility, medical screening, protocol-specific treatment, medical monitoring of subjects and referrals. Ms. Kaempf was a Medical Management trainer (brief psycho-social intervention to promote medication compliance) for several multi-site national and international medicated research trials. She has presented topics of substance use disorders at local, statewide and national nurse/nurse practitioner conferences.
